Dogs Drop 5-1 Decision
|
Jim Dotterweich, who finished 3rd in the FL in innings pitched with 214.0 in 2050, imposed his will on the Dogs from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Vancouver triumph. The winning pitcher was Dotterweich, now 4-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. The win elevated the Grizzlies to 23-23.
Edgardo Chávez dealt the Dogs a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Vancouver leading 1-0, Chávez hit a 2-0 curveball for a 2-run single.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Chávez.
