On Road, Philadelphia Drops Chicago, 9-5
|
The Philadelphia Liberty topped the Chicago Dogs, 9-5, in Heartland League action at New Northwest Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher Sandy Strausser. Philadelphia has now won 3 straight, while the Dogs have lost 3 in a row.
In the top of the fifth, Philadelphia second baseman Kaleb Jon Carico had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Carico stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-0, Philadelphia. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Strausser.
