The Washington Generals picked up a win at Thunderdome, downing the China Grove Samurai, 3-1. On the mound for Washington was left-hander Mal Robinson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Washington is 5th in the Heartland League with a record of 22-23.

Washington used the hitting of Sancho Vargas to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Generals on top, 2-0. For the game, Vargas had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Washington manager Robby Werner said.
