Liberty Drop Empire, 5-4
|
Philadelphia catcher Jake Manendo helped his team beat the New York Empire, 5-4. Manendo, who finished 5th in the HL in home runs with 32 last year, went 4 for 6 for the Liberty. The loss drops the Empire to 17-13.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With two out, Manendo hit a slider from Jeff Perkins for a run-scoring single. The Liberty, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," Manendo said.
