Generals Edge Dogs, 6-5
|
Fans watched the Washington Generals and the Chicago Dogs fight to the finish.
Chicago left fielder Rusty Wachowski had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Wachowski went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Washington beat the Dogs, 6-5. Claude Johnson was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ivan Zamorano? The Washington left fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Generals on top, 6-3. For the game, Zamorano had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"No time for flexing," said Zamorano. "It's always one game at a time."
The Dogs drop to 11-15 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2053 season.
