Generals Lose By a Run at Chicago, 6-5
|
The Chicago Dogs defeated the Washington Generals, 6-5. Doing his part was first baseman John Nemecek, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dan Murray was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Generals fall to 9-14 and continue their lackluster start to the 2053 season.
Doug Heafey went 1 for 3 for Chicago. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Arturo Quintanilla. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Heafey.
