New York Defeated By Millers, 5-4
The Minneapolis Millers spoiled a good performance by New York right fielder Dan Gaccione, bumping off New York, 5-4, at Gateway Field. Gaccione slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Anastasio Soto was the winner. He's now 4-1. The loser was Phil Bailey. Ed Fish picked up the save for Minneapolis, his 6th of the year.

Minneapolis won the game in part because of Carel Ketteringham. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Millers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Ketteringham had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ketteringham told the Minneapolis Times.

The win gives the Millers a record of 11-12.
