The Milwaukee Milkmen had to overcome a fine effort from China Grove pitcher Juan García to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Thunderdome. García went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Bingo Long picked up the save, his 2nd. The Samurai fall to 5-15 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2053 season.

Tomás Discua, the 36-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Discua contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up, 2-1.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Discua told the Milwaukee Herald.
