Millers Drop Bats, 7-3
|
The Minneapolis Millers knocked off the Austin Bats, 7-3, in Frontier League action at Dell Diamond. Minneapolis pitcher and Indianapolis, Indiana, native Kevin Lijewski had an outstanding performance. The defeat makes Austin 16-4.
Minneapolis used a clutch at-bat from Héctor García to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Millers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Kevin was really attacking guys' weaknesses and he didn't leave a lot of balls over the plate," said Minneapolis field general Kurt Olsen.
