Blues Deal Generals 4-3 Defeat
|
The Memphis Blues topped the Washington Generals by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Héctor García. García went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Blues on the day. Picking up the win was Hugh Bauer. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 1 and walked 2. Ron Kinstle earned the save for Memphis, his 2nd.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, García hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Washington manager Matt Pulley. "The effort was great."
The loss makes Washington 7-10.
