Samurai Lose to Dogs, 4-3
|
The Chicago Dogs faced a tough opponent in China Grove pitcher Lou Cowick, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Thunderdome by a final score of 4-3. Cowick went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ikerne González recorded his 1st save for Chicago. The victory makes Chicago 7-10.
The result might have been different for Chicago, had it not been for Yukihiko Nakagawa, the 31-year old shortstop . Nakagawa stroked a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Chicago up, 4-3. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Nakagawa. "And not try to do too much."
