Liberty Sneak Past Generals, 7-6
|
The Philadelphia Liberty topped the Washington Generals, 7-6, in Heartland League action at Roughnecks Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia center fielder and Laredo, Texas, native Anthony Werstein. The win puts Philadelphia at 9-5.
Werstein had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Liberty. Coming up with the bases loaded and Philadelphia trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Werstein.
