Generals Drop Contest, 4-1, to China Grove
|
China Grove rode a fine outing from starter Léo Monteil to victory over the Washington Generals at Palmer Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Monteil, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. China Grove is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.
Wes Morrison, the 28-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Morrison contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put China Grove up, 2-1.
"I'm proud to wear a China Grove jersey," Morrison told the China Grove Today. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
