Bats Win, 6-0, Versus Liberty
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Philadelphia Liberty and Austin Bats get after it.
Austin starter Danny Shuler put a stranglehold on the Philadelphia offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Bats to a 6-0 win. Shuler got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Shuler allowed no runs.
Sam Tette chipped in for Austin with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Tette.
The victory makes Austin 6-6.
