Bats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Generals, 6-4
|
The Austin Bats handed the Washington Generals a loss at Palmer Stadium. The final score was 6-4. Juan Acevedo was one of the major contributors for Austin. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Jon Boucher, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. The loss makes Washington 3-2.
Acevedo had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Lazlo Stromain, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Bats a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Acevedo.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Acevedo told the Austin Observer. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
