Washington Beats New York, 4-3
|
Washington registered a win at Palmer Stadium by beating the New York Empire, 4-3. Pitcher Feyd-Rautha Harkonen was one reason why the Generals triumphed. Harkonen yielded 3 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Citrano closed the game out for Washington, earning his 1st save.
The Generals got a big hit from first baseman Josh Comingore. In the bottom of the sixth, Comingore smacked a grand slam home run off New York pitcher Jim Shue. It was his 1st home run of the season. Suddenly, the Generals were ahead, 4-3.
In postgame remarks, Comingore applauded his team's "resolve."
With the loss, New York drops to 1-3.
