|
The Vancouver Grizzlies could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Doug Tomaselli into a win. Instead, the Mexico City Chupacabras prevailed, 4-3. Tomaselli was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. César Gonsáles, now 3-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. With the win, Mexico City raised its record to 90-69.
David Puddy came through with a big-time hit for Mexico City. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Puddy told a Mexico City Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
