The Washington Generals downed the Chicago Dogs, 12-0, at New Northwest Stadium. Washington pitcher Jim Cummings had a scintillating performance. The Generals improved their record to 72-85 with the win over Chicago.

Early in the game, left fielder Jeff Greene had a 2-run double for Washington. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Generals on top, 2-0.

"We lit up the scoreboard," said Washington manager Doug Carney.
