Minneapolis Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
Erie and Minneapolis met in a late-season matchup.
The Erie Seawolves picked up a win at Safeco Field, knocking off the Minneapolis Millers, 5-0. Starting pitcher Jonathan Reese played a key role in the triumph. Reese got the win, improving to 15-7. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Reese allowed no runs.
Esteban Reyes went 1-3 with a walk for Erie. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tim Turner. It was his 42nd walk of the season.
"I thought we played a nice game," Reyes told the Erie Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Erie, now 74-82, holds down 5th place in the Frontier League.
