Dreamers Topple Milkmen, 8-3, as Morningstar Shines
|
2053 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Milwaukee Milkmen.
The California Dreamers beat the Milwaukee Milkmen, 8-3, at M&P Park. Lucifer Morningstar, in particular, was impressive. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Gus Russum, the winning pitcher, improved to 12-12. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Pat Van Blarcom, who is tied for 10th in the FL in runs scored with 77, helped out the California cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Van Blarcom.
The win elevated the Dreamers to 89-66.
