Millers Solve Seawolves, 5-3
|
Erie got a terrific game from designated hitter Esteban Reyes. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Minneapolis, 5-3. Reyes went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ed Fish got the save, his 40th in 43 chances. The Millers lead the Frontier League by 4½ games.
Wilson Pérez came through for Minneapolis when he hit a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a first pitch fastball to center field, staking his team to a 4-3 lead.
Pérez called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
