Surf Dawgs Lose Despite Valiant Effort by Palmiere
The Mexico City Chupacabras overcame a good performance by San Diego second baseman Joe Palmiere to knock off San Diego, 10-9, at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu. Palmiere was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The winner was Mexico City reliever Greg Minerd, now 3-1. The loser was Jimmy Albright. Mexico City now has a record of 86-65 with the win.
