Blues Make It 4 In a Row with 5-2 Triumph Over Washington
|
Memphis rode a good effort from starter Jeff Perkins to beat the Washington Generals at Gateway Field. The final score was 5-2. Perkins went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-6. Sheridon Raffles got the save, his 10th in 15 chances.
The Blues got an important contribution from left fielder Brad Benson, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 2-2 changeup into left-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Blues ahead, 5-2.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Washington manager Matt Pulley.
The current losing streak for Washington has reached 5 games.
