The Chicago Dogs bested the China Grove Samurai, 6-3, at New Northwest Stadium. Juan Soto Jr. was one of the standouts. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Chicago reliever Mike Banks was the winner. His record is now 5-7. Rob Biehl took the loss. The Dogs sport a record of 58-91.

Chicago third baseman Juan Cortéz contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a curveball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 106th hit of the season and put the Dogs ahead, 3-2.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Cortéz.
