The China Grove Samurai topped the Washington Generals, 3-0, in Heartland League action at Thunderdome. The game was highlighted by the performance of China Grove pitcher Juan García. China Grove goes to 66-79, Washington to 63-84.

The Samurai had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-0, China Grove, with no one out. Washington, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Wen-huan Sung dug in at the plate, but on a full count sinker, he hit into a double play.
