García Hits 3 home runs in Milkmen Win
|
The Milwaukee Milkmen trumped the Charlotte Knights, 6-5, at Milkmen Ballpark. Milwaukee left fielder Manny García was terrific. He belted 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times. José Fabila notched his 7th save in 13 chances. Milwaukee is now 62-79, while Charlotte is 65-77.
García contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Milwaukee in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, García took a curveball from António Meléndez and stroked the home run to center. His 20th home run of the season allowed the Milkmen to leap in front, 6-3.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," García told the Milwaukee Citizen.
