Generals Take Down Scrappers, 9-5
|
The Washington Generals weathered an outstanding game by Mahoning Valley left fielder Ronald Pergman to topple the Scrappers, 9-5. Pergman went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. The third-place Generals have won 4 in a row.
Washington used the timely hitting of Sean Forward to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Generals on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our mindset right now," said Washington manager Matt Pulley.
