Milkmen Come Up Short at California, 4-3
|
Good production from right fielder David Puddy helped the California Dreamers topple the Milwaukee Milkmen, 4-3. Puddy was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Dreamers. Arturo Vallejo was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Héctor Carbajal, credited with the save, is now 11 for 15 in save opportunities.
Pancho Martínez, who finished 3rd in the FL in stolen bases with 26 in 2045, helped out the California cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
