Late Rally by Generals Secures 6-2 Win
|
The Washington Generals took Philadelphia pitcher José Sprow's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Palmer Stadium. The final score had Washington getting past the Liberty, 6-2. Sprow went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. With the victory, the Generals record now stands at 59-78.
John Nemecek hit a bases-clearing triple off Phil Buescher in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Generals in front, 5-2. Nemecek had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We had a nice day," said Washington skipper Matt Pulley.
