Extra-Inning Win by Grizzlies Over Dreamers
|
Vancouver starter Juan Alemán put a stranglehold on the California offense. The left-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Grizzlies to a 2-1 win. Derek Marthaller, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities. The second-place Grizzlies have won 4 consecutive games.
Vancouver used a clutch hit from Eric Tarbell to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Alemán told the Vancouver Daily News.
