4-1 Win Gets Austin to 80-55
|
The Austin Bats got a marvelous performance from pitcher Mike Vaughan. The right-hander kept the Washington offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Austin victory at Dell Diamond. Iván Álvarez notched his 6th save in 6 chances. The win for the Bats raised their record to 80-55.
Luis Arguellez had a big 2-run double for the Bats in the bottom of the second inning. With Austin leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Juan Hernández, who finished 5th in the HL in wins with 13 in 2052, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bats ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Arguellez.
