Comingore Leads Generals to 7-5 Win Over Knights
|
Josh Comingore was a major factor in the 7-5 Washington win over Charlotte. The Generals first baseman was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The win was credited to Steve Eckenroth in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jim Skibo took the loss. Luis Padilla, credited with the save, is now 11 for 17 in save opportunities.
Washington used a timely hit from Dave Silva to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Washington manager Matt Pulley.
The win has Washington at 50-82.
