The Washington Generals downed the Mexico City Chupacabras, 4-2. The hitting star was catcher Chad Farruggia. Farruggia was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Generals. Washington pitcher Jim Cummings earned the win, hiking his record to 4-5. Dave Charles suffered the loss. With the win over Mexico City, the Generals improved to 62-69.

Washington took a 4-0 lead on Farruggia's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Eric Matthiesen in the top of the eighth, propelled Washington to the win.

In postgame comments to the Washington Daily, Farruggia said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
