The Erie Seawolves got a sterling performance from pitcher Jonathan Reese, but the Minneapolis Millers still prevailed, 2-1. Reese threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Kevin Lijewski, the winner, improved to 14-4. He held the Seawolves to 1 run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Ed Fish notched his 31st save in 34 chances.

Minneapolis shortstop Daniel Peña contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 91st hit of the season and put the Millers ahead, 2-1.

Peña told a Minneapolis Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
