Bats Suffer 10-5 Loss to Chicago
|
The Austin Bats got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Vaughan, but the Chicago Dogs still won the game, 10-5. Vaughan threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The Dogs sport a record of 46-79.
Had Rusty Wachowski not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Wachowski hit a grand slam home run. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Dogs.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Chicago manager Kenny Diaz.
