Scrappers Send Washington Home with 5-2 Loss
|
Mahoning Valley and Washington duked it out and the Scrappers came out victorious.
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers got a good effort from starter Chris Ahrendt in defeating the Washington Generals at Palmer Stadium. The final score was 5-2. After today's action, Mahoning Valley sits at 56-63; Washington slips to 57-63.
Rusty Wachowski, who finished 3rd in the HL in home runs with 33 in 2057, came through for Mahoning Valley with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.
Ahrendt attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
