Memphis Gets 6-4 Win Against Dogs
|
Chicago right fielder Tim Serviss was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Memphis beat the Dogs, 6-4. Jim Shue, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Picking up the save was Cristo Salas. He's now 4 for 4 in save chances.
The Blues got a big hit from catcher Will Bettelheim. In the bottom of the fifth, Bettelheim pounded a bases-clearing double to left-center. His 15th double of the season put the Blues ahead, 6-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Bettelheim said after the game.
With the win, Memphis raised its record to 65-55.
