Wahlin Slugs Bats to 11-7 Win
|
Bats left fielder Shawn Wahlin put his stamp on his team's 11-7 win over the Nashville Outlaws. Wahlin belted 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for Austin in the contest. Jeremy Waiden notched his 5th save in 7 chances. Austin now has a record of 57-56 with the win.
Austin relied on the hitting of Willie Mays Hayes to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bats on top, 4-3. For the game, Hayes had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Austin manager Claas Spitsbaard.
