Dreamers Turn Back Minneapolis, 6-4
|
The Minneapolis Millers got a superb performance from first baseman Danny Berry. Still, it wasn't enough to beat California. The Dreamers won the game, 6-4. Berry was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Vic Fennessy, the winning pitcher, is now 7-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. The win puts California at 64-46 this season.
California used the bat of Jerry Kelly to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dreamers ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Dreamers," said Kelly.
