Bats Deal Scrappers 2-0 Loss
|
Starting pitcher Kai-shek Thean was a major factor in the 2-0 Austin Bats triumph over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Jeremy Waiden got the save, his 4th in 5 chances. The victory gives Austin a record of 56-54.
Wilbert Singleton, the 22-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Singleton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Austin up, 1-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Thean said after the game.
