Berkowitz Slams Door on Austin, Notches 300th Save
Beau Berkowitz has joined elite company. The Manchester Marauders reliever earned his 300th save in a 2-0 victory over the Austin Bats at Dell Diamond. The newest member of the 300 club told reporters after the game, "I get the ball and I try to win the game. When I get a save, my team wins and really that's all that matters. I'm happy to reach the milestone, but it's just that. The more important part is that I've helped my club win." While picking up the save, Berkowitz allowed 1 hit and no runs in 2 innings of work.

Despite the dejection of their team having lost the game, even a number of Bats fans were seen honoring Berkowitz as they joined in the standing ovation as he recorded the final out on his historic save. "That was pretty special," he said. "Something I won't soon forget."

Over his career Berkowitz has posted 300 saves.
