Seawolves Throttled by Samurai, 5-1

Safeco Field was the site for Heartland League action featuring the Erie Seawolves and China Grove Samurai.
The China Grove Samurai got a strong performance from pitcher Léo Monteil, who stymied the Erie offense en route to a win, 5-1, at Safeco Field. The Samurai now have a record of 43-58 with the win over Erie.
In the bottom of the eighth, Esteban Reyes stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Seawolves were trailing 4-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Walt Cefaratti made a terrific pitch and Reyes grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Erie comeback.
