Dreamers Edge Marauders, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Gus Russum held up his part of the bargain, helping the California Dreamers stymie the Manchester Marauders, 3-2. Manchester's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
The Dreamers got an important contribution from first baseman José Garza, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a first pitch curveball into left for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Dreamers ahead, 3-0.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Manchester manager Anthony Phillips.
