Blues Deal Outlaws 7-2 Loss
|
The Memphis Blues beat the Nashville Outlaws, 7-2, at Olympic Stadium. The Blues got a fine performance from third baseman Dave Goff, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Jeff Perkins got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The losses continue to pile up for Nashville, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.
Memphis used the bat of Will Bettelheim to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blues ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Blues manager Deshun Dixon, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
