Singleton Slugs Bats to 7-3 Win
|
The Austin Bats knocked off the Chicago Dogs, 7-3, at Dell Diamond. Wilbert Singleton was a big reason Austin won. The first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The slumping Dogs have dropped 6 in a row.
Singleton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count cutter from Tony Peredo, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bats a 6-3 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Singleton.
Singleton called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
