Dogs Drop Generals, 7-4
|
Juan Soto Jr. was a major factor in the 7-4 Chicago win over Washington. The Dogs left fielder went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tomás Pacheco was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Tony Peredo earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Yukihiko Nakagawa to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dogs ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Soto Jr.. "And not try to do too much."
The Dogs sport a record of 32-48.
