Milkmen Upend Seawolves, 7-6
|
The Milwaukee Milkmen topped the Erie Seawolves by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Strahd Von Zarovich. Von Zarovich went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Milkmen. Steve Beacon got the save, his 6th in 9 chances. Milwaukee is 35-45 and Erie, with the loss, 39-42.
Milwaukee used a well-timed hit by Cam Smith to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Milkmen ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Von Zarovich told the Milwaukee Herald. "But we take nothing for granted."
