Millers Solve Samurai, 3-2
|
Minneapolis picked up a win at Thunderdome, bumping off the China Grove Samurai, 3-2. Pitcher Tim Turner was a major reason the Millers emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Turner, now 10-3. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Earning his 13th save of the year was Ed Fish.
Minneapolis used the bat of Dexter Morgan to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Millers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Enjoyed this one," Turner told the Minneapolis Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Frontier League-leading Millers are 47-27.
