Chachere on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
|
It was a quite a day for Mike Chachere at Palmer Stadium.
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is -- a single, double, triple and home run. The Washington right fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 6-1 victory over the Charlotte Knights.
"I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it," he told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference. "The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it's the win that's important."
Chachere went 4-for-4 in the game with 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
Mike Chachere singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ed Wehrman in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Hitting .274 to date, Chachere has 14 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 70 games.
