Bats Lose to Millers, 6-5
|
The Minneapolis Millers and Austin Bats obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Minneapolis Millers took Austin pitcher David García's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Paul Bunyan Stadium. The final score had Minneapolis getting past the Bats, 6-5. García went 5 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 3. Ed Fish notched his 12th save in 14 chances.
Minneapolis grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jesús Alfaro delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Millers.
"We take it day by day here," said Alfaro, "and today was a good one for us."
The Frontier League-leading Millers have a record of 45-26.
